Client Policies

Arrival Policy

We are located at 560 Loring Avenue, Salem, MA 01970 on the 2nd floor (above Peacock Alley Hair Salon). There are two parking spots behind the building marked for Branch to Root Wellness Center. The other parking spaces are reserved for the salon. If both spots are in use, there is ample on-street parking on Loring Ave and on Loring Hills Ave (a side street which runs adjacent to our building).

Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your session start time to go over any health concerns and treatment goals with your therapist and to ensure your session starts on time.

We ask that clients arrive free of any strong odors (including body odor, cigarette smoke, cologne, and perfume) to avoid triggering any allergies and/or sensitivities the staff or other clients may have.

For their own safety, we will not provide services to any clients who smell of alcohol or who appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Late Arrival Policy

If you are running late, please call us at (978) 234-4511. We understand that life sometimes gets in the way and occasional late arrivals are inevitable. We will always do our best to accommodate our clients, but in some cases we may need to shorten a session due to a late start. Full price will be charged for the actual scheduled time. In return, we will make every effort to run on time. If for some reason we are not, we will give you the time back during your massage or adjust the price of the session itself. Please let us know if you have time constraints we need to work within.

Cancellation/No Show Policy

If you need to reduce your appointment time, reschedule or cancel your massage session for any reason, we kindly ask that you provide us at least 24 hours notice. Rescheduled or cancelled appointments with less than 24 hours notice may be subject to a 50% cancellation fee (half of the regular price of your scheduled session). Clients who do not show up to their appointment and have not reached out ahead of time will be charged the full cost of their session.

Illness/Covid Exposures

If you are exhibiting any signs of illness, have come into contact with someone exhibiting flu or covid symptoms or have been in contact with a known covid case, please call us before your appointment to discuss. If any of our therapists are exhibiting any signs of illness or have been exposed to any known sources of potential illness, we will reach out to our clients as soon as possible to discuss and, in most cases, reschedule the appointment.

Inclement Weather

When inclement weather is occurring or is expected and driving conditions are expected to be dangerous, we will reach out to discuss and/or reschedule. If you have not heard from us and do not feel safe driving, please call (978) 778-8517 to reschedule. Our clients safety and comfort are of upmost importance.

What to Expect During Your Session

Clients will be accompanied into the massage therapy treatment room where we will go over your health history and goals for the massage session. The massage therapist will then leave the room to allow you to undress to your comfort level and get onto the table. You should feel free to remove as much or as little of your clothing as you wish. We work with our clients fully draped, under a top sheet and blanket, meaning that only the part of your body where we are working at that time will be exposed. We can also work with our clients fully clothed; please let your therapist know if you would be more comfortable receiving a clothed session.

Once you are undressed, on the table, and under the sheets and blanket, the massage therapist will knock to make sure you are ready, come back into the room, and begin the session. Soothing music is played during the session.

The massage therapist will check in with you regarding pressure, temperature, and general comfort. Only you can feel what is going on for your own body and should you feel pain or discomfort, please inform the massage therapist immediately and they will adjust their pressure/techniques as needed.

When your session is over, the massage therapist will again leave the room to allow you to get dressed.

All sessions are completely confidential and client records are maintained in a secure online database.

Prenatal Clients

All prenatal sessions are performed in the side-lying position and/or an elevated supine position to maximize comfort and safety for both the expectant mother and baby. Clients should list all conditions and concerns as some situations would require a doctor’s note, modifications, or avoiding massage altogether.

Minors

Minors may be treated after a parent or guardian has signed the Consent Statement. A parent or guardian is expected to stay on the premises for the entire treatment session.

Payment

Payment will be rendered at the time of service. Acceptable forms of payment include cash, all major credit cards, and Venmo. Personal checks are only accepted from established clients. At this time, we do not accept insurance from medical providers.
